We had an incredible day! I came home with 395 photos to download onto the computer!! I am almost overwhelmed with the task of sharing it with you, so I'll try some "installments." When something is difficult, you break it down into smaller parts, right?
Our plan was to get an early start and head over to Lubec Ridge again. On the way, we stopped off at West Glacier to check out the Ladyslipper spot and found a big lovely clump with fully opened flowers covered with raindrops.

Here is Lynn photographing; it gives you a little more sense of scale. |
We didn't find more slippers, but in the searching we found this gorgeous Columbine bud ready to open soon. The forest floor was covered in a mixture of Starry False Solomon's Seal and Forget-Me-Nots.

Forget-Me-Nots; there were lots of pink and purple colors, as well as blue. |
Then we headed east on Highway 2 to see what we would find on Lubec Ridge. It has been 3 weeks since we had been there earlier in May, so we were excited to see what had developed. We stopped at Marias Pass for a quick break and enjoyed some Glacier Lilies--they grow bigger here than anywhere else we've seen.
We found incredible beauty on Lubec, but I will just have to give you a teaser for now and try to blog some more tonight.

Needless to say, we found some amazing flower gardens and some additional surprises along the way!
