Grand Teton (part three)

The climbers were successful!  The next morning I headed up to the Taggart Lake trailhead; there were beautiful views of the mountains there in the morning light.  I hiked up to Bradley Lake, and then Taggart, talking to Warren on the radio when they summitted around 9 a.m.  I picked more huckleberries and just had a nice, leisurely 4-mile walk.  Got back to the car around 1, went "shopping" at Jenny Lake for a bit, then went to the trailhead, sat in the shade and read my kindle until the climbers came out.

The mountains from right to left are Teewinot, Grand Teton, Middle Teton, and South Teton.  From this perspective, Middle looks bigger, but the Grand is just further back.

Rising up above Bradley Lake, Middle Teton and Garnet Canyon on the left, and the Grand is the peak right against the cloud.

These are not huckleberries, but Whortleberries, and usually very tiny.  This little bush was loaded down with them, but because of their size it might not even be a handful.

Pictures from Colter's and Warren's cameras.

Warren nearing the summit.

This one is looking down at Bradley and Taggart Lakes, where I was hiking.

Colter, the lead climber. You can see Jackson Lake in the distance.

Warren, rappelling back down.

More down climbing.

Tired hikers returning.

Very tired, but jubilant at their making it to the top!
