A Study of Paintbrush: Logan Pass, part four

From my photos, you would think that my favorite flower is Paintbrush!  I think it's just because it is so photogenic!  At Logan Pass we can find so many different color variations, as the lighter color Paintbrush hybridize with the more intense colors.  I hope the color differences will show up here in my photos.

There are always lots of pink-magenta colors and then variations of lighter pink or a little more red.

Then we have this unique variety of Green Paintbrush--actually a creamy white.

Then we get color combos:

Where did this crazy color come from?! And it isn't even shaped like other Paintbrush varieties:

Blue Gentian Heaven: Logan Pass, part three

Since I had already posted lots of beautiful Gentian photos, I thought I'd try to find flower combinations with Gentian.  Well they are a little stand-offish, growing in clumps, and don't get too friendly with other flowers in the meadow.  So I took pictures of other flowers with Gentian in the background!  Kind of like Heaven's Peak in the background of everything.  :-)

Photographs and Photographers: Logan Pass, part two

Lynn and I are often taking photos of each other taking photos...  Here are some of the flower photos with a look behind the scenes.  Thanks to Lynn for always sharing her fabulous photographic art with me!

Or was it this garden with Mt. Reynolds that includes Asters and Bracted Lousewort?

Here's where the photographer was:

Now it's Lynn's turn.  Here are some of her flower photos and my locator pictures.

Another Day at Logan Pass

Lynn and I didn't get our fill of wildflower beauty at Logan Pass last time, so we went again yesterday. I'll imagine that some of the pictures will look similar, but I'll try to show you some other aspects of this gorgeous little alpine valley in Glacier Park.

Photo courtesy of Lynn--I'm in there somewhere below Mt. Clements.

We found a few anomalies:  white Monkeyflower and white Chive, both albino forms I think.

Our wandering took us up the creek and to a waterfall called Triple Falls.  All the water (snow-melt) in this valley drains down into this rocky slot, to a 20 ft. (?) drop.

The other hikers in this photo will give you a sense of the scale of this "little" falls.

The next photo is just zoomed out--look for the rock-slot.

We didn't see any new flowers, just more bloomed out, and more on the way.  Be looking for some other posts of flowers from this hike, but I'll categorize them by flower type a little for something different.
